Renovation Challenge- Modern Kitchen Reveal

Weeeeoooh, what a whirlwind 6 weeks. It feels so good to finally reveal our kitchen! I can’t say it wasn’t a gruelling 6 week Kitchen Renovation Challenge, but so rewarding in the end! I am insanely excited to show you the final reveal of my fresh modern farmhouse kitchen.

Are you all still in shock we actually pulled this off? I certainly am!

Modern Farmhouse Kitchen

To recap, I was one of 12 designers who competed in a Jeffrey Court tile  challenge to complete a room makeover in just six weeks! I chose to renovate the kitchen in the Harmony home we’ll soon be moving to. Remember the brown kitchen?

I am so blessed to be chosen to be a part of the Jeffrey Court 6 week Fall Renovation Challenge. I have to be straight with you, pulling this off in 6 weeks was no easy job. I was up at 5 (or earlier) most mornings, went to work, and was right back at it until wee hours of the morning.

Not only were we able to completely renovate the kitchen, I also tackled the adjoining breezeway and dining room.

Remember what the dining room looked like before?

The breezeway was blah and lacking attention. Boo beige…

But boring breezeway no more! Fresh Jeffrey Court tile, a swanky new light fixture and trim work, has this small space stylin’. The Allegro Fan (wall tile) and Timber Picket (floor tile) is beautiful combination, perfect statement in this little space!

My favourite part is the scalloped tiles and Dekton countertop (more on that to come)… honestly I can’t choose a favourite, I love it all!

It really makes my heart flutter how all the elements and mixed metals work together. I had my mind set on everything champagne bronze at first, but as I moved in the appliances I changed my tune a bit. I decided to go with the new Allentown Delta Faucet with TempSense with Indicator changes colour as water temperature changes.

The mixed metals work really well together with the Champagne Bronze Francisco hardware from D. Lawless Hardware.

My cousin built my dainty gold and glass self for me, I couldn’t resist using it for my milk glass collection.

There has been many ups and downs this challenge has sent us through, but we couldn’t be happier with the transformation!

  5. It is lovely…good job! Have to ask, is stove down draft vented?

    1. The home has a venmar system in the kitchen, so it isn’t completely neccessary. Thank you for visiting

  6. Lovely job! Love how you used the tile in the entryway above. Just curious as to why you chose not to use an exhaust fan over the stove? Neat design choice.

    1. Thank you, Considering the timeline I didn’t have time to get the electrical reworked to put one there. The house has a venmar system for exhaust in the ceiling anyhow so it wasn’t completely necessary.

  7. LOVED following along with this Virginia! What an incredible transformation! It turned out SO beautifully!!!

    1. Thank you Kristi, It was a lot of quick work, but I’m so happy how everything came together.

  8. Virginia,

I Love it! Your kitchen is the perfect example of why we sell so many fireclay farmhouse sinks! Such a smart way to maximize space. 6 gruelling weeks but clearly worth the effort. The these types of post coming.

Cheers From the Annie & Oak team!
