Tween Girl Bedroom Makeover
I am very excited to finally share Ruby’s Tween Girl Bedroom Makeover! Coming up with tween girl bedroom ideas has been the best project in ages… maybe since her last bedroom makeover!
The Bedroom Before
One of the bargaining chips to move last fall was that the kids would get new bedroom decorations. Thankfully the older boys moved to the basement giving their rooms to the younger ones. However, young adult boy rooms aren’t the ticket for a tween girl. Have a look at the room before.
The room was a blank slate to add lots of color and personality.

Sloped Ceiling Bedroom
Anyone who has a half story home knows figuring out how to decorate a slanted wall bedroom can be challenging. We were so lucky that her bed (which was my Dad’s when he was a boy (he’s now 86)) fit in the dormer absolutely perfect! Finding 3/4 bedsheets is a whole other topic.
Adding a canopy to the dormer made her bed so dreamy, she thinks it feels so magical! Placing the bed under the slanted ceiling was the perfect solution to incorporating the
The Wallpaper
Isn’t this Tallulah Wallpaper from Rocky Mountain Decals 100% drool worthy?! The wallpaper was the starting point for all the tween girl decorating ideas. This Tallulah self- adhesive wallpaper was so easy to apply! Just peel off the backing paper and apply the wallpaper wherever you want, no need for glue, paste or gluey water dripping down your arm!
Girls Walk In Closet
The closet was an area of despair. It was in immediate need of some arranging. I sourced the perfect closet organization systems from Bestar, that helped get everything in order.
The Closet Before
We installed the 61″ Versatile Closet Organizer. It has loads of storage for all her clothes, shoes, purses, belts, and extra drawer space for other seasonal things.
Just outside the closet we used the Edge wardrobe with two drawers for additional storage for toys, and bedding.
The Optimum Small Desk with Pedestal completed the bedroom set. There is so much storage… her bedroom should never be messy (a mom can dream, right?!).

Hi Emily! Thank you so much! I actually made the pillow. The rainbow is made from cording wrapped in yarn, and the clouds are a specialty yarn I cut the baubles off of. V
