Refreshing Summer Mocktail Recipe
It seemed like it took forever for the summer weather to actually arrive. Now that we’re in full force with hot, humid days we’re hitting the pool and lake as often as possible. Water time = fun time, and what better way to burst out the fun action then with a refreshing Swimming Pool Summer Mocktail recipe and some awesome new toys from Canada’s Fun Store!
Adults shouldn’t get to have all the fun when it comes to summer cocktails, so I wanted to create a refreshing dummer drink the kiddos could have on those blistering hot days. I enlisted the help of The Union Street bartender, Andy. When I said I wanted it to be blue like the swimming pool he immediately said, let’s use blue Gatorade! I like how he thinks; kid friendly and a little something extra to help with hydration!
- 2 oz (60ml) Motts Pina Colada Mix
- 3 oz (90ml) Blue Gatorade
- Lemonade
- Add Pina Colada Mix and Blue Gatorade to a shaker filled with ice. Shake until frothy and pour into a tall glass. Top with Lemonade or Lemon Lime Soda. Garnish with a blue freezie and sliced fruit.
Now that the summer mocktail ideas are rolling, you’re going to need something fun for the kiddos in the water. Canadian Tire has you covered this summer. Otherwise known as Canada’s Fun Store, they have everything from balls, bats, balloons, bouncers and bikes to keep the kids happy, and out of your hair this summer.
You can’t tell me that super cute floaties don’t make you want to lounge around sipping something sweet…maybe all day. You’re likely going to need a pool boy too!
Or maybe just to float by to attack your brothers with a blast from your Zip Fire Super Soakers.
