Welcome to my summer home tour! This summer I embraced my rustic roots with lots of modern vintage decorating ideas.
This week I’m joining some of my talented blogging friends for the Summer Seasonal Simplicity Home Tour Series! Each day from Monday through Thursday six bloggers are sharing part of their homes all ready for summer. Be sure to enjoy all of the beautiful inspiration for adding a little summer to your home by visiting the links under the images at the end of this post.
I recently gave my dining room a mini makeover. I selected this beautiful fluted glass light fixture from Dainolite. It adds a modern twist to the otherwise vintage-inspired pieces. Such as this new Loloi Blush Area Rug, and church pew.
Adding the IKEA shoe cabinet to our garage entrance has been a lifesaver to keep this entry tidy. The profile of the piece isn’t obtrusive so keeps the flow of the walkway clear.
A couple pieces of digital artwork I created fills the wall and flows nicely into the open concept living room. Small doses of nostalgia like my camera collection, bring together the modern vintage decorating ideas.
If you follow along with my Instagram stories you may have watched the lamp saga unfold of my McGee and Co lamp dupe, and my early morning painting where I created this landscape piece.
Adjacent to the dining room is the living room, in my open concept home. It is important that the decor travel well from one space to another.
During the warmer temps I love to fill the living room with fresh flowers and tree trimmings, it really awakens the colours in my home.
New wallpaper from Photowall in the living room adds a subtle pattern, and a hint of color to the otherwise neutral walls.
I’m on the hunt for new living room furniture, but for now, these pieces are filling the void.
Just on the opposite side of the living room is our main entry. Despite not being used that often, it was time to add a little bit of modern vintage flair to the space to tie it into the rest of our home.
I’m sure by now you’ve toured my main bathroom, but if not, you can check it out here.
If you want to learn to paint your own wallpaper, grab the free stencils for this project and a complete video tutorial here.
For the summer I switched up my bedroom a more neutral colour palette. You can see what it looked like before this mini makeover.
These lamps I found at a thrift store got new shades and a fresh coat of paint. They were the inspiration for the entire makeover.
Taming down the colour scheme with subtle pops of pink, makes this space relaxing and the perfect retreat.
