After spending so much time this past year within their 4 walls, my clients knew a Living Room Makeover was necessary to make their home comfortable and inviting for the family when the time came to share moments again.
Without a doubt this living room makeover called for a fresh colour palette, new furnishings and a bit of space planning to suit this season of life.

Living Room Makeover
Before
Let’s have a look at the space before the new design.
The new design is purely aesthetic, the space had good bones, just needed a facelift!
The Makeover
The homeowners are well traveled and collected small pieces of artwork from various trips throughout the years. These gave a great starting point for the new colour palette to incorporate into the room design. My favourites were small landscape watercolour and ink sketches from a trip to France.
In addition to the French watercolours, a beautiful original painting was repurposed from another space. The fall lakeside landscape had wonderful movement and helped tie the scheme together.
The Furniture
New furniture pieces included a Stylus custom sofa in Sandstone, a Modern Elran powered armchair and two small storage ottomans to flank the fireplace. The coffee and end tables were pieces the homeowner already had, just need a fresh coat of stain.
The Loloi wool area rug is so plush underfoot. It determines the space and creates a cozy atmosphere.
Accessorizing the space was easy. Given the current time and availability of pieces, I shopped the client’s home to find items that would complete the design. Pretty pieces like a ginger jar, a decorative bowl and books from their study elevated the colours in the artwork and pulled the living room makeover together.
