May Arts Ribbon Projects: Part 1- Butterfly Mobile, and a darling Layout

May Arts, May Arts read all about it! Did you hear? May Arts is having a Design Team call!  And since I love me some May Arts Ribbon, and I love that I can incorporate beautiful ribbon into most projects I do, I thought why not take a stab at it! Realistically, I know SO many people put in for these calls from all over the world and there is some very tough competition out there, I won’t get my hopes up,  just my fingers crossed.  Regardless of the outcome I had so much fun putting these projects together, I hope you can use some of the ideas for your own creations.  If you want to check out the nitty gritty of the DT call you can check here: http://www.mayarts.com/blog/may-arts-ribbon-blog-design-team-call/ The jist is this:  You must post 3 projects onto your blog (of course they must be projects using ribbon) and one must be a tutorial.  Today I will showcase two of my projects and tomorrow will be a tutorial (something so cute for the little girl in your life).  I hope you enjoy these projects and maybe even give the call a go.

Baking Beauty Layout: by viewing this LO you may experience ribbon overload, but I love how girly it is!

Layered ribbon topped off with a rouched piece
simple pieces of scrap secured with a paper clip

Second Up is a Beautiful Butterfly Mobile- I love how all the elements of this mobile came together it is very whimsical.  Not exactly typical baby girl colors, but everything worked so well together. The vintage lace, silky mustard and grey ribbon, and the off white organza ribbon give it a nostalgic essence.  The pattern paper is My Minds Eye- Lost and Found 2, and the butterflies were cut using the SU sizzix die.

I hope you’ll join me tomorrow for Part 2 of my May Arts post.

Happy Crafting
