There’s nothing worse than having to spend time in a blah bathroom to get ready each morning. It was time to freshen things up in Wilson’s main bath with a DIY floral weekend bathroom makeover!

Nothing makes you want to relax more, than a long hard day at work. Spending my days running around the restaurant can leave me wanting a good long soak, and now when Wilson invites me over I have the perfect tub to do it in!
But the bathroom was blah, bland, and not a room I really felt like unwinding in.
Ready for the before?

The before version of this bathroom was functional, and that was it. Someone tried really hard to spruce things up with that hand-painted mountain mural, but it just wasn’t cutting it!
Something had to go…

Inspiration for this DIY floral weekend bathroom makeover struck when I found this gorgeous Lovebirds wallpaper from Photowall.
The soothing combination of colours, the adorable lovebirds and the striking florals grabbed my attention. I knew that I could make this an inviting space to unwind at the end of the day.
This quick bathroom update took me a weekend from start to finish, starting with the wallpaper.

Most of the walls in this bathroom were already a soft neutral colour that the previous owners had painted and it perfectly complemented the wallpaper. The most challenging part of this weekend bathroom makeover was deciding what pattern and colour scheme to go with!

Photowall makes putting up a seamless feature wall behind the clawfoot tub so easy. The paper is custom printed for each order according to the size of your wall, so there is no guesswork when it comes to matching the pattern. Farewell, pattern repeat.

That charming old clawfoot tub also got the royal treatment with a good scrub and a new exterior paint job.

I absolutely adore the rich navy of Sherwin Williams colour of the year Naval- SW6244! It pairs perfectly with the new wallpaper and was an easy inexpensive upgrade.

No room update is complete without a lighting update, and that tired old fan definitely had to go! Replaced with this glass pendant I snagged on clearance, the whole room is brighter and more welcoming.

Ruffled pink curtains, candles, fresh flowers, a fluffy bath mat and a stool to set towels on added the finishing touches and brought the whole space together.

The whole room is much more inviting and relaxing! This weekend bathroom makeover changed this space from boring to a relaxing retreat and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results!
Let’s take one last look at the before and after…
