Since Christmas I’ve really been getting back in touch with my sewing machine, playing with all sorts of fabric and trying to get back into the groove! Last week I hauled out a few leather scraps and have been thinking up lots of ways to put them to use. Today is a quick little post to share a fun zipper pouch I’ve made with leather corners.
Isn’t it swell?! I love the country chic look.
I thought the vintage wooden floral buttons were the perfect accent to the leather corners. I ordered them online from WholePort. They have a huge button selection (not to mention other fun craft supplies) at really awesome prices.
I found the best zipper pouch tutorial over at ‘Oh No Rachio‘. The step by step photos are the best I’ve seen on how to master creating the zipper pouch. I don’t think you’ll have any trouble following the tutorial.
If you’d like to add leather corners to your bag, this should be the very first thing you do. Top stitch leather to right side of your outer fabric. Then follow the directions Harriet provides at the link above.
Be sure to clip the corners of the leather before turning!
Thanks to WholePort for providing me with the buttons to accent this leather corner zipper pouch.
