Keepin’ a Boy Busy… and a Girl Too

Hi Folks!  Most of my life I have been crafty in one way or another, maybe some of the ideas weren’t earth shattering by none the less, there were mine. This all changed  last year sometime when I joined Pinterest . Don’t get me wrong, not many days go by that I don’t peruse the million boards on this lovely creation. But now everything I make usually stems from an idea I’ve seen from someone else, a re-create, or just plain ol’ copying! Well I’m proud to announce that this one is all mine! Not to say someone else hasn’t made something similar but I just went to my craft room and made it, no running back to the computer to peek at someone else’s work. I just went and put the creative side of my brain to work!  If you like this car version, don’t hesitate Click on over to the May Arts blog for a PAPER DOLL version I put together (also my own idea!) Enjoy:

Busy Book with a dinky car garage. Would make an awesome #Christmas travel gift!

This busy book is created from two pieces of Chipboard (you could use cereal boxes also).Drive the cars in the garage for safe storage

I sewed the felt pocket directly to the chip board cover. felt busy board book for dinky cars

I sewed the road design to the piece of green felt. Then I used spray adhesive to attach it to the chipboard. Using a leather gauge needle in my sewing machine I sewed around the parameter of the board.

Felt dinky car road map, perfect companion for in the car. Think Christmas drive!

I used my Cinch to bind the two pieces together. The busy book fits perfectly on the lap of a child in their car seat.

This book was intended for using while you’re in your car seat, but fun regardless where you use it!

It took a few to wrap my head around the idea, but if I make a second book I think it would take less than 1/2 hour! Thanks!

have u tried this as a traveling type thing for the car?

    1. The car is where my kids get the best use out of theirs! They measure about 18″ across so they fit on their laps nicely when they are sitting.
