My New Favorite Thing: HOOVER® QUEST™ 1000

On a list of 1-10 rating my priorities, cleaning has slipped down to about a 9.5. Maybe I shouldn’t publicity admit that. I’m not setting myself up to be on the next episode of hoarders, but there just isn’t enough hours in the day. I have an amazing mom that surprise pops into my house when I’m not home and does a tidy now and then. I know someday I will have to start adulting on my own but I will likely continue to lean on her as my schedule is sometimes bonkers. My summer goal is to hire a legit cleaning lady so I can keep my sanity and enjoy being at home with my kids when work gives a little.  But in the meantime I’ve just had the best thing happen to me… I got a HOOVER® QUEST™ 1000 ROBOT VACUUM. Yep, my own magical floor cleaning robot!! It obviously doesn’t take a lot to excited me these days, but move aside dust bunnies, you’re going down.

I feel a bit like this little magic machine is something from a movie. I can control it from my iPhone (works with Android too), was ridiculously easy to set up, and it takes up about 1% of the space my giant central vac does. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my trusty central vac, but who doesn’t want a romance with a cleaning tool that all you have to do is click a button?!

I recently had my house appraised. I had set up an appointment with the appraiser, and about 3 hours before he was supposed to arrive he called to say he was about 30 minutes away. I was still at work, and hadn’t cleaned the house yet. I can’t tell you how relieved I was to be able to flick on Mr. Hoover Hoovah from my phone via the wi-fi app. The Quest gave the floor a once over while I was frantically driving home. When I got there the robot had done his deed and all I had to do was throw the piles of mess into a closet and viola, company ready house!

One main concern about getting a robot vacuum was that it may not clean my area rugs well. I have one in every room so that would have been an issue. The HOOVER® QUEST™ 1000 had no trouble transitioning from one floor type to another.

I have a wood stove in my house so during the winter months behind my doors and under the beds easily gets like dust bunny haven. This vac gets everywhere even along walls and in corners!  Really, the only thing I might change about this vacuum is the fact you have to empty the canister yourself!
