A few days ago I shared my Master Bedroom Reveal, I’m so excited how it has all came together (if you haven’t seen it yet, you must)! No room makeover in Fynesington Palace would be complete without some treasured thrifted pieces. Since Value Village is celebrating National Thrift Store Day on August 17, I couldn’t help myself but to give you a behind the scenes look at my master bedroom thrift store accessories. They really give this space a unique touch… and kept my makeover on a serious budget!
You might not think much of some of these items when you walked past them on the Value Village shelves, but a lick of paint and a bit of creativity and these dated items were brought back to life!
I think the chair makeover is my favourite, it was only $4.99, and now it looks like a million bucks!
Of course doing little thrift store makeovers costs a bit of cash above and beyond the cost of the item, but my bedroom makeover would have been FAR from budget friendly if I had bought everything new.
The lamps were a steal at only $5.99 each, then I picked up the shades for $12 at Walmart. A set of 2 lamps for under $40 is still pretty decent. I spray painted them 4 times before I settled on silver #tooindecisive #faceinpalm.
This watercolour print I painted ended up being hung on the wall. A coat of white paint distressed with grey stain gave the pine a better suited frame for the bike.
Pretty wild flowers find a home in one of the many Value Village vases I’ve brought home.

Love your new look! That yellow is so cheerful! I actually found an enamel tray at my local Value Village that you should have for your room lol! Great scores – and that chair makeover is awesome!

I am now feeling the urge to go thrifting – even though we are still months away from starting our new house and I have nowhere to put anything right now 🙂 Great finds, and even better make-overs! Thanks for sharing with us at the #HomeMattersParty

I love all your pieces and the framed bicycle is probably my favorite. I am a fan of thrift stores and make overs and recycling also – too much fun making everything my own. Thank you for sharing at Share It One More Time. Cathy

I really love the lamps! Isn’t it amazing what a bit of paint can do. Often, the shape of a piece is more important than it’s color.
That bright yellow chair is lovely. I’m curious about the cushion. Is it permanently attached to the chair? What did you use to fill in the “hole”?
Virginia says
Hey Becky, I just used a scrap board cut to the shape of the seat bottom. Then the foam is hot glued to the board, covered and then screwed to the chair. i hope that helps!

The pulls on that dresser/nightstand are stellar.
