I visited the location at the Halifax Shopping Centre. To start with when you pull up to the mall entrance you will immediately feel the celebrity status with reserved VIP parking. Seriously 10 steps from the front door, on a cold drizzly day it had me sold! Then you want to head directly to the lounge before you start your hunt for the perfect gift, because they are going to hold your coat for you… + your oversized camera bag should you bring it on your shopping trip!

While you’re popped in for the coat drop you may as well grab a yummy snack, and a delicious drink; like tea, coffee, hot chocolate (in a variety of flavours), or a juice box /flavoured water for the kiddos!

I have to be honest this part of the “stop” lasted about an hour! They had so many tasty snacks like chocolate from Rocky Mountain Chocolate House, cookies, chocolate pretzels, candy canes, and fruit. Plus Levi (my celebrity son) needed time to flirt with all the ladies, I was certain he was going to spend the night!

He got to make his own special hot chocolate with sprinkles, decorative sugars, candy canes, marshmallows and chocolate stir sticks! I think he had 4 drinks going on at one time!

Then we were off to do some serious gift buying. I was so-lo on my shopping trip with a kid that refuses to get in a stroller, so when my hands got full, I popped by the lounge to have my bags checked and FREE gift wrapping while I finished shopping (too easy!).

It was also the perfect time to relax, check my email with the free wi-fi, and have another snack break (I can’t lie, we had about 5 of them)!

The staff of the RBC Avion VIP lounge were amazing! They are there to cater to your every need, and really make you feel like a royal shopper! The decor alone is like walking into a winter wonderland! It was so nice to be on the “inside” having the chance to take a minute to regroup, and give the wee one a break from the hustle and bustle!
