Enamel Inspired Christmas Tree Pots
I have a tiny obsession with Enamel Wear Vintage Dishes. I love the gloss sheen of the enamel, the color combinations, and the random dents and chips that tell a story of days gone by. I have a few pieces I cherish that I have displayed in my kitchen hutch , but I wanted some to use for my holiday decorating. This enamel ware knock off version will do just fine to plant my little Christmas trees.
I’m sure you’ve already noticed these little pots scattered throughout my Christmas posts (like in my Rustic Christmas tree post, and this years porch decor).
I found this set of old terracotta pots in my Aunts attic. They were clearly destined for the trash so I rescued them with a little coat of paint!
To create your own set of Enamel Christmas Tree Pots you will need
- White gloss spray paint
- Red and black gloss paint
- Terracotta pots
- Painters tape
- small craft paint brush
I think the photo says mostly what you need to know…
- Spray paint the pots with white gloss spray paint,
- Tape off the parts you’d like red and paint on the red gloss with a craft brush
- Using the black gloss paint add some random spatters for chips in the ‘enamel’
The small trees I plucked out of the ground in my black yard (after all my house sits on an old Christmas tree farm) and planted them with a little black earth. Topped off with some cute May Arts Ribbon bows, and they are perfectly vintage Christmas material!
I seriously think this is the easiest DIY I’ve ever done! You can pick up Terra Cotta pots in a variety of sizes for only a few dollars at Michaels.
Don’t they look a little bit authentic… without the authentic price tag (can you tell I like to cheat vintage? Just like I did with my knock off DIY vintage sled for only $10!)
